JOB POSTING/TITLE: Data Warehouse Associate

Pending Board approval, applications are being accepted for a full-time Data Warehouse Associate at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac campus. This position manages the IT Data Warehouse function including administration, analysis, programming and coordination with College Management, Institutional Research and functional users. This position reports to the Director of Administrative Computing Systems (SunGard Managed Services).

Beginning Date: Immediately

Characteristic Duties / Responsibilities:
  1. Translate the College’s organizational objectives and associated high level metrics into data structures that enable effective institutional reporting. Work effectively with Institutional Research and other College departments to effectively define requirements in order to capture data within technical structures that permit efficient reporting.
  2. Analyze and model data requirements, defining relationships between key variables and data structures.
  3. Process and transform organizational requirements into systematic applications, structures, and/or reports.
  4. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining data warehouse integrity including security and regulatory privacy requirements.
  5. Maintain effective configuration control of all associated applications, software, and database structures.
  6. Research and assess technological trends and best practices. Responsible for the development and implementation of changes as approved by Information Technology management.
  7. Oversee the completion of assigned Central Help Desk cases to ensure all cases are completed in accordance with the Service Level Agreements.
  8. Oversee the College’s effort to establish data warehouse standards. Provide technical training and support as required.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field such as Engineering which includes project management coursework, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  2. Minimum of five years of data warehouse technical experience. Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in data warehouse development.
  3. Ability to manage data warehouse function, organization and technical environment.
  4. Logical development and programming skills, technical expertise or advanced knowledge of SQL/SQR programming and query tools. Strong database knowledge and skills, particularly Oracle Relational Database (RDB) and Microsoft SQL Server. Knowledge of ETL (Extraction, Transformation, Loading) Tool skills such as Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) and experience using reporting tools such as Cognos and Argos.
  5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret College requirements and technical documentation.
  6. Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Project management experience required.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.
  8. Ability to work effectively in a team-based, highly participative environment.

Salary Range: D2 ($48,355 - $72,505)
