JOB POSTING/TITLE: Economic & Workforce Development Instructor

Applications are being accepted for a full-time Economic and Workforce Development Instructor at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac campus. The primary teaching responsibility will be in a variety of computer software products, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Quick Books, Adobe and Crystal Reports. This position will also be responsible for assisting the development of blended curriculum and webinar based offerings. This instructor will be teaching at various business locations within the Moraine Park District, and may be required to teach on evenings and weekends. A flexible schedule is required to meet client needs. This person reports to the Dean of Continuing Education and Institutional Quality.

Beginning Date: November 2009

Characteristic Duties / Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with department staff in designing and delivering customized instruction to our business and industry clients.
  2. Understand and analyze the training needs of business and industry clients.
  3. Assist in the development of appropriate contracts with businesses for the provision of customized training.
  4. Assist in making District business and industry aware of the services offered by Moraine Park Technical College in the areas of customized training and technical assistance.
  5. Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to support the primary learning system and to foster a learner-centered environment and stellar service to our business customers.
  6. Represent Moraine Park at appropriate education-related events within the communities this position serves.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely reports and records.
  8. Participate in committees and work teams as appropriate.
  9. Design, develop or modify performanced-based curriculum.
  10. Aid in development of blended training and materials for webinars for all EWD training.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:
  1. Familiarity with CBT Systems, Internet and web page design.
  2. Experience in teaching in the business and industry environment.
  3. Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
  4. Ability to design and write performance-based curriculum.
  5. Familiarity with the manufacturing, service and/or health care industries.
  6. Ability to analyze and respond to the needs of business and industry customers.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  2. Minimum of 4000 hours of related occupational experience.
  3. Must meet area either 106 or 107 certification requirements established by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.
  4. Secondary certification in either area 196 - Supervisory Management, or 625 - General Quality Improvement is desirable.

Salary Range: 178 - Day Salary Schedule for 2009-10 (Based on a 178-day contract, salary range is $43,702 - $60,883 for a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and appropriate experience. The salary range is $49,893 - $65,017 for a Master's Degree and appropriate experience.)
