JOB POSTING/TITLE: Community Outreach - Health Science Instructor

Applications are being accepted for a full-time Community Outreach - Health Science Instructor at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac campus. The primary teaching responsibility will be in various areas of healthcare including leadership, supervision, teambuilding, coding, simulation, electronic health records, quality, six sigma and other areas as customer needs require. This instructor will be teaching at various sites and business locations within the Moraine Park District, and may be required to teach on evenings and weekends. This person reports to the Dean of Child Care and Health Sciences.

Beginning Date: Immediately

Characteristic Duties / Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with department staff in designing and delivering customized instruction to our business and industry clients.
  2. Understand and analyze the training needs of the healthcare industry.
  3. Assist in the development of appropriate contracts with businesses for the provision of customized training.
  4. Assist in making District business and industry aware of the services offered by Moraine Park Technical College in the areas of customized training and technical assistance.
  5. Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to support the primary learning system and to foster a learner-centered environment and stellar service to our business customers.
  6. Represent Moraine Park at appropriate education-related events within the communities this position serves.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely reports and records.
  8. Participate in committees and work teams as appropriate.
  9. Design, develop or modify performanced-based curriculum.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:
  1. Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  2. Experience in teaching in the business and industry and healthcare environment.
  3. Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
  4. Ability to design and write performance-based curriculum.
  5. Familiarity with the healthcare industry.
  6. Ability to analyze the needs of the healthcare industry.
  7. Ability to participate in teams and processes effectively.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Master's Degree preferred.
  2. Must meet area 543 or 530 and 196 certification requirements established by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. Certification in 625 preferred also.
  3. Minimum of 4000 hours of related occupational experience.





Salary Range: 178 - Day Salary Schedule for 2009-10 (Based on a 178-day contract, salary range is $43,702 - $60,883 for a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and appropriate experience. The salary range is $49,893 - $60,883 for a Master's Degree and appropriate experience.) The 2010-11 salary schedule has not been determined at this time.
